Error Code 11 - TCPConnectionFailed

Overview

 Error Code 11 (TCPConnectionFailed) indicates that the Softdrive client was unable to establish the required TCP connection to the remote computer. 

 This means the device could not initiate a successful connection to the remote PC, typically because the PC is offline or the required server process is not running.

  • Softdrive Platform
  • Softstream Client
  • Cloud PCs

Symptoms

  • Error Code 11 – TCPConnectionFailed displayed when connecting
  • Connection fails immediately
  • Unable to reach the remote computer

Possible Causes

  • The remote PC is powered off or not reachable
  • SoftdriveServer.exe is not running on the remote PC
  • The remote PC is stuck during startup, restart, or updates
  • Firewall or network rules blocking required TCP traffic
  • Temporary connectivity issue between client and remote PC

 This issue is typically related to remote PC availability or TCP reachability

Resolution

  1. Confirm the remote PC is online
    • Verify the Cloud PC is powered on in the Softdrive dashboard
    • If offline, start the machine
  2. Verify SoftdriveServer.exe is running
    • Check that SoftdriveServer.exe is active on the remote PC
    • If not running, start the process and retry
  3. Allow time for system processes
    • If the PC is restarting or updating, wait a few minutes
  4. Use the Troubleshoot option
    • Log in to the Softdrive dashboard
    • Select your computer
    • Click Troubleshoot

Validation / Expected Result

  • The Cloud PC is reachable and online
  • The connection is established successfully
  • The session launches without TCP errors

Troubleshooting Notes

  • This error is most commonly caused by the Cloud PC being offline
  • If SoftdriveServer.exe is not running, connections will fail
  • Network restrictions may block TCP connectivity

  • Error code: Error Code 11 – TCPConnectionFailed
  • Date and time of occurrence
  • Cloud PC name and organization
  • Screenshot of the error message
  • Whether the Cloud PC shows as online or offline
