Overview
Error Code 12 (TCPDisconnection) indicates that the TCP component of the Softdrive connection was closed unexpectedly.
This means the connection was successfully established, but the underlying TCP session was terminated before the session could continue.
In many cases, this is a temporary condition and reconnecting immediately resolves the issue.
Common Causes
Error Code 12 (TCPDisconnection) is usually triggered by one or more of the following:
Temporary network interruption
TCP reset (RST) triggered by a firewall or network security policy
Network devices closing idle or long-lived TCP connections
VPNs or security gateways interfering with TCP sessions
This issue is most often related to network security or TCP session handling, not the Softdrive client or Cloud PC.
Troubleshooting
Things to do when this happens:
Retry the connection
In most cases, reconnecting immediately restores the session.Check for recurring disconnects
