Overview
Error Code 14 (UserProcessTermination) indicates that the user-session component of Softdrive’s server software terminated unexpectedly on the remote computer.
This occurs when SoftdriveServerUser.exe, which manages the active user session, closes or crashes unexpectedly.
When this happens, the current session cannot continue and the connection is terminated.

- Softdrive Virtual Machines
- Softstream Client
- Users experiencing unexpected session termination
Symptoms
- Session disconnects abruptly
- Error Code 14 (UserProcessTermination) is displayed
- Unable to continue the active session
Possible Causes
- Unexpected termination or crash of SoftdriveServerUser.exe
- System instability or resource exhaustion on the remote PC
- Operating system interruptions affecting user processes
- External software forcibly closing the session process
This issue is server-side and is not related to client configuration or network connectivity.
Resolution
- Retry the connection — the process may restart automatically
- Restart the Cloud PC to restore the user-session process
Validation / Expected Result
The session connects successfully and remains stable without unexpected termination.
Troubleshooting Notes
- If the issue occurs once, it may be a transient process failure
- Frequent occurrences may indicate system instability or resource limitations
- Check if other applications on the remote PC are crashing or consuming excessive resources
- Ensure no third-party software is interfering with session processes
