Answer: When Softdrive detects a poor internet connection, it decreases your audio quality, frame rate and visual quality to compensate.
There are two possible troubleshooting's to fix this
1 - Change settings using the Quick Settings option.
- Go to the Softdrive Menu and click on Quick Settings
- On the Quick Settings menu choose: LOW or ULTRA LOW which are intended for users with low internet speeds like users that are on the field using a hotspot or remote places with poor internet service.
2 - Change settings using the Quick Settings option.
- Go to the Softdrive Menu and click on Advanced Quality Settings
A window will pop up which will let you tweak individual settings based on your requirements.
In this window there are few changes that can be done to get a better quality.
- Move up Bitrate from 10(Mbps) to 20(Mbps) or 30(Mbps)
Bitrate(auto): is the amount of information or data that is processed and sent in a video in a given amount of time.
- Deduct Max from 60(fps) to 20(fps)
Frame Rate (FPS): is the number of images displayed in a video per second. It's a key factor in how a video appears and how motion is perceived.
- Move up Encoder profile min quantization from 20 to 25 and max quantization from 35 to 40.
Encoder: is what converts data from Softdrive to your local machine.
Once all these changes are done, make sure to Change the Settings name on the top right hand side and Add it. This will help you see this new setting created within the quick settings menu.
