Softdrive automatically adjusts visual quality, frame rate, and audio quality when it detects a poor internet connection. This helps maintain a stable experience but may result in a blurry screen.
Troubleshooting Steps
1. Adjust Settings in Quick Settings
- Open the Softdrive Menu and click on Quick Settings.
- Select LOW or ULTRA LOW if you're on a slow internet connection, such as a mobile hotspot or remote network.
2. Adjust Settings in Advanced Quality Settings
Open the Softdrive Menu and click on Advanced Settings.
A window will appear where you can manually tweak settings for better visual quality. Try the following adjustments:
- Increase Bitrate from 10 Mbps to 20 Mbps or 30 Mbps.
- Bitrate controls the amount of data processed and sent in a video stream.
- Lower Maximum Frame Rate from 60 FPS to 20 FPS.
- Frame rate affects how smoothly motion appears on the screen.
- Adjust Encoder Profile:
- Min Quantization: Increase from 20 to 25
- Max Quantization: Increase from 35 to 40
- The encoder converts Softdrive data for display on your local machine.
- Increase Bitrate from 10 Mbps to 20 Mbps or 30 Mbps.
After making changes, rename the settings in the top right corner and save them. This will allow you to access them quickly in the future.
