Overview
Error Code 02 (TLSHandshakeTimeout) indicates that the Softdrive client was able to initiate a connection to the remote computer, but the TLS handshake required to secure the connection did not complete within the expected time.
This means the initial connection was established, but the secure encryption negotiation timed out before completion.

Symptoms
- Connection attempt times out during launch
- TLS or secure connection timeout error message
- Unable to establish session despite initial connection
Possible Causes
- SSL inspection or TLS decryption enabled on firewalls or security gateways
- Network security policies delaying or blocking encrypted TLS traffic
- Proxy devices or content filtering systems inspecting TLS sessions
- High network latency or unstable network conditions
This issue is not typically caused by the Softdrive client or the virtual machine itself.
Resolution
- Contact your network administrator
- If you are on a corporate or managed network, inform your network/security team
- Request that SSL/TLS inspection be disabled or bypassed for Softdrive traffic
- Test using a different network
- Use a home network or mobile hotspot
- If it works, the issue is confirmed to be network-related
- Use Softdrive Troubleshoot
- If the issue started recently, run the Troubleshoot option from the Softdrive dashboard
- Restart devices
- Restart your local machine
- Restart the Softdrive Cloud PC if accessible
Validation / Expected Result
- The connection completes successfully
- The Softdrive session launches normally
- No TLS timeout errors are displayed

- Testing on a different network is the fastest way to confirm the root cause
