Released: February 2026
This release delivers significant improvements to stability, compatibility, and overall user experience across supported platforms.
Softstream
New Features
Connectivity Diagnostics File
Introduced a new diagnostic file that captures key Softstream connection events and system checkpoints during session establishment. This provides administrators with clearer, structured insight into connection state, enabling faster troubleshooting without requiring full log analysis. The framework is designed to expand over time to support additional diagnostic checkpoints.
Enhancements
Webcam and Microphone Device Handling Improvements
Enhanced media device management during session reconnects, application switching, and device reinitialization events. These improvements ensure proper release and reattachment of webcam and microphone resources, reducing device lock conditions and stream initialization issues.
Webcam Rendering and Media Stability Improvements
Improved session stability for webcam-enabled applications by addressing conditions that could cause intermittent flickering or media instability within Softstream sessions.
Computers Tab – Fleet and Pool Identification
Computers assigned to a Fleet or Pool now display their associated Fleet or Pool name directly within the Computers tab. This improves administrative clarity and simplifies identification of machine group assignments.
Fleet Capacity Visibility in Launcher
The Launcher now displays available computers relative to the total fleet size, providing administrators with clearer visibility into active capacity, overall consumption levels, and real-time fleet availability during peak usage periods.
Fleet Computer Selection Optimization
Improved the fleet computer selection process to reduce repeated assignment of the same VM after release. This enhancement improves distribution across available machines and lowers the likelihood of selecting a recently released or unhealthy computer when claiming a session.
Fleet Shutdown User Notification
Users now receive a notification five minutes prior to a scheduled Fleet shutdown event. This advance notice improves session awareness and reduces the risk of unsaved work during automated shutdown windows.
Bug Fixes
IGEL OS 12 – Entra Authentication
Resolved an issue where launching a Softstream session from the Softdrive web portal using Entra authentication could fail on IGEL OS 12.
Video Encoder Mismatch on Reconnect
Resolved an issue where video encoder settings could become mismatched following disconnect and reconnect events, which in some cases led to degraded session performance.
