Dashboard - Computer Pool

Overview

A Computer Pool is a group of computers that can be centrally managed and shared among users within your organization. Computer pools make it easier to assign access, manage resources, and control how users connect to cloud PCs.

1) View Computer Pools

To view existing computer pools:

  • Log in to the Softdrive Dashboard.
  • Navigate to the Computer Pools tab.

From this page, administrators can:

  • View all computer pools in the organization.
  • See basic details for each pool, including:
    • Number of computers
    • Number of assigned users
  • Use the Search option to quickly find a pool.
  • Switch between List view and Grid view for easier visualization.

2) Create a Computer Pool

Creating a computer pool is a two-step process:

Create the pool

  • Click the Add button in the Computer Pools section.
  • Enter a pool name.
  • Choose whether to enable Multiple Streams:
  • Enable Multiple Streams
    Allows multiple users to connect to the same cloud PC within the pool at the same time.
  • Disable Multiple Streams
    Restricts access so only one user can connect to a cloud PC at a given time.

Assign computers and users

After creating the pool:

  • Assign one or more computers to the pool.
  • Assign the users who should have access to the pool.

This determines which users can connect to the computers within the pool.

3) Edit a Computer Pool

To edit an existing computer pool:

  • Navigate to the Computer Pools tab.
  • Select the pool you want to modify.
  • Click Edit in the top-right corner.

From the Edit screen, administrators can:

  • Rename the pool.
  • Add or remove assigned users.
  • Add or remove assigned computers.

4) Delete a Computer Pool

To delete a computer pool:

  • Open the computer pool you want to remove.
  • Click the Trash (Delete) button in the top-right corner.
  • Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Deleting a computer pool does not delete the computers themselves. It only removes the pool configuration and access assignments.
