Setting up SSO for Softdrive with Microsoft Entra

This guide provides detailed steps on setting up single sign-on (SSO) for Softdrive. We have a simple setup or a more sophisticated setup using Microsoft Entra ID (Previously Azure Active Directory or AAD). 


Simple


1. Go to dashboard.softdrive.co and click sign in with Microsoft.


2. If Microsoft has asked you to sign in with an admin account, contact your organization’s Azure Active Directory admin and ask them to grant consent for the organization.

4. Select consent on behalf of your organization before clicking accept.


5. You can then log in with your Microsoft account into the dashboard or launcher


Setup using Entra ID 


Prerequisites

  1. If there is a local Active Directory present, it should be synced with Entra ID. Link
  2. Have admin privileges for Microsoft Entra.
  3. There should be an existent account in Softdrive with the user email address before the user tries to login to softdrive with Microsoft SSO.



Configure Microsoft Entra ID Single Sign-On (SSO)

This section will show the steps to enable Microsoft Entra ID SSO and configure it in the Softdrive application.

1) Go to your Azure Entra site: https://entra.microsoft.com/

2) Go to: Application => Enterprise Applications

3) Within the enterprise applications, choose All Applications and search for Softdrive

4) Click on the softdrive app that pops up. Then choose Users and Groups


5) Choose the users or groups that will have access



6) Check conditional access and confirm that those policies are met for the users that are intended to use Softdrive.




Using Microsoft Entra ID Single Sign-On (SSO) in Softdrive

1) Open up the Softdrive App, choose the "Sign in with MICROSOFT" option.


2) Login with your Microsoft credentials.

3) Once logged in, click on "Consent on behalf your organization" option. 

4) You should be able to see your computers. 


Troubleshooting

1) If when you log in, you do not see any computer, please contact your network administrator and have him assign a computer to you. 

2) If you get the error saying "No Account is associated with the provided email', make sure the user has been added in the application configuration in Entra. (Step 5 above)
